Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu, claiming that only “mad people” would vote for him in the 2027 presidential election.
Amaechi made the remarks while speaking at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) stakeholders’ town hall meeting in Edo State, where he referred to a social media post suggesting that the 2027 election would reveal the number of Nigerians willing to vote for Tinubu.
Speaking at the gathering, Amaechi said, “They are going to vote for Tinubu. Only thieves can vote for Tinubu. I read on social media that it is in 2027 that we will know how many m@dman we have in Nigeria. Because it’s only a m@dman that can vote for Tinubu.”
He went on to challenge the people of Edo State, insisting that a vote for the president would amount to madness.
“Only m@d people will vote for Tinubu. If Edo people vote for Tinubu, that means Edo people are m@d. If you are not m@d, then Tinubu should not win here,” he added.
Amaechi’s comments have added to the heated political rhetoric surrounding the 2027 presidential election, as opposition figures continue to voice their criticisms of Tinubu’s leadership ahead of the next electoral contest.
