Popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has revealed that her Lagos office was severely damaged in a fire incident on Tuesday evening, July 8, 2025.
The actress shared a heartbreaking video of the aftermath on Instagram, showing burnt furniture, blackened walls, and debris scattered across the premises. She confirmed the incident happened around 7 PM.
“This just happened today… my office building caught fire,” she wrote, visibly shaken by the loss.
Despite the destruction, Ojo expressed deep gratitude to the Nigerian Fire Service for their rapid response. According to her, their timely intervention helped prevent the fire from spreading further. She also thanked her dedicated team for their efforts in salvaging what was left.
“Thankfully no lives were lost. The devil tested us today, but God said no,” she wrote. “With God on my side, we will bounce back bigger and better.”
Although the cause of the fire is yet to be identified, the actress noted that investigations are ongoing. The incident comes barely seven months after a similar fire destroyed fellow actress Mercy Aigbe’s home in Lagos, highlighting the growing concerns over fire safety in residential and business properties.
