Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has praised the Joint Task Force (JTF) troops for their intensified efforts in combating banditry within the state.
The military bolstered its presence in Zamfara State over the past weekend, aiming to curb the activities of bandits in volatile regions.
A statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, lauded the ongoing military campaign as a crucial step in disrupting the criminal operations of bandits.
The statement expressed sympathy towards communities affected by recent bandit attacks in volatile areas while reaffirming the state government’s unwavering support for troops on the front lines.
The statement highlighted significant achievements resulting from the recent military operations, particularly in Bungudu, Tsafe, Maru, and Zurmi local government areas.
Notably, the elimination of notorious bandit leader, Abu Dan Dunkwuifa, and the neutralization of numerous bandits in Magama Mai Rake of Dansadau area were emphasized.
Furthermore, the statement outlined successful rescue operations in Nasarawan Burkullu, Bukkuyum LGA, leading to the liberation of kidnapped victims and the recovery of rustled cattle. It debunked false rumors regarding mass kidnappings, attributing them to individuals seeking to disrupt peace in Zamfara State.
The Zamfara State Government reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens and pledged continued support for the ongoing efforts to combat insecurity. Additionally, it promised to provide necessary emergency assistance to victims affected by banditry in the state.
