Public Tip-Off Leads to Recovery of Stolen Car, Arrest of 3 Suspects – Police 

A timely tip-off from a concerned resident has led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the arrest of three suspects by the Bauchi State Police Command.

The Command, in a statement issued by its spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, said the incident occurred after an Opel Vectra belonging to Mu’azu of Katsinawa Village, Jos Road, Bauchi, was stolen by unidentified persons.

Police said a distress call from a good Samaritan prompted detectives from the ‘E’ Division to launch a rapid operation, leading to the interception of the vehicle at Dorawan Dillalai and the arrest of one suspect.

The investigation later extended to Gombe State, where detectives arrested two additional suspects identified as Abubakar Musa, 46, and Usman Abubakar, 30, who were allegedly arranging to purchase the stolen vehicle.

According to the statement, all three suspects confessed to the offence and disclosed involvement in previous vehicle theft cases.

Commending the successful operation, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, praised both the responding officers and the vigilant member of the public whose information proved crucial.

He assured that investigations were ongoing and that the suspects would be prosecuted after the completion of the investigation.
