Hayatu-Deen Boycotts ADC Presidential Result Release, Alleges Widespread Rigging

One of the presidential aspirants who contested Monday’s presidential primary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, said he would not attend the announcement of the outcome of the primary.

He however said he is not withdrawing from the race.

Hayatu-Deen contested the ADC’s presidential ticket against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi.

In a statement on X on Tuesday, the banker turned politician expressed concern “by reports from across the country of widespread vote rigging, some of which I myself observed, and will therefore be taking advice on my next steps.”

The result of the primary which was scheduled to be announced by 10 am on Tuesday, was shifted to 4 PM.

At the time of filing this report, the result was still being awaited.
