Flavour Reflects on His Early Transition in the Music Industry

Renowned highlife singer Chinedu Okoli, popularly known as Flavour N’abania, recently shared insights into his early music career during an interview on the UK’s *In My Opinion* podcast.

Flavour recounted how he began by performing for small crowds in the East, captivating audiences with his unique sound. Realizing he needed to reach a broader audience, he took a night bus to Lagos, armed with the belief that his talent alone would drive his success.

Upon arriving in Lagos, Flavour recorded his first song the following day and reached out to Nigerian rapper Mr Raw, asking for a feature. Mr Raw agreed, and once the rapper added his verse, Flavour took the CD back to Enugu. He found that people embraced the song enthusiastically, prompting him to print and sell multiple copies of the CD.

Flavour also noted that he learned a great deal about the music industry and artistry from his collaboration with Mr Raw.
