Ola Aina, the defender for Nottingham Forest, is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to compete against his former team, Chelsea.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team will host the Blues at the City Ground on Saturday.
Aina joined the esteemed London club at the age of under-11 and eventually progressed to represent Chelsea’s first team.
In 2019, the 27-year-old made a permanent move to Serie A side Torino.
Aina aims to contribute to Forest’s attempt to secure another victory against Chelsea, following their 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge in September.
“I don’t know if this is going to get me in trouble, but I am a Chelsea fan. It’s a fixture I’ve been looking forward to and I’m excited to be involved in it to see what happens,” the Nigerian told BBC.
“I don’t think there’s any point to prove. I don’t hold grudges or anything – whatever happened in the past happened. There’s no animosity there. It’s just the career of a footballer. I only have fond moments of being at Chelsea. It’s a chapter that closed and [I’ve] moved on, just how anyone else would.”
