Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, has taken stock of their 4-3 loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
Liverpool came agonizingly close to securing victory on two occasions, but Manchester United managed to score two equalizers. The tension mounted as Amad Diallo struck a last-minute winner in extra time at Old Trafford.
This defeat dashes Klopp’s aspirations of clinching a Quadruple in his final season at Anfield.
“We could have won the game and we would have deserved it. But United deserved it as well.
“At 2-1 up we had so many chances to kill the game. The last pass was not right, or in a rush at some moments. The rest is already history if you want.
“The longer the game goes, the decision-making does not get any better. Congratulations to United, going to the semi-final, we have a game less, or have two games less, and we try to use that in the next few weeks,” Klopp told ITV.
