In Kwara State’s Centre-Igboro Area Court on Wednesday, Abdulmumini Otan sought a divorce from his wife of 36 years, Zainab Abdulmumini.
Otan expressed his lack of interest in the marriage, prompting Zainab to request time to reconcile their differences. Zainab explained that she had apologized for an issue between them but faced resistance from Otan and his family.
Presiding Judge Hammad Ajumonbi granted the couple time to resolve their issues, emphasizing the importance of reconciliation when either party expressed interest in preserving the marriage.
Ajumonbi advised Zainab to persuade her husband to forgive her. The case was adjourned until March 25 for a report on the settlement.
