Bandits abducted Ishaya Dimas Dila, the former Vice Chairman of Yorro Local Government Council in Taraba State, alongside businessman Lawal Begwa. The kidnapping took place during the early hours of Sunday in Dila village within Yorro council.
This alarming incident unfolded shortly after the recent release of Alhaji Umaru Nyala, the district head of Kwaji Chiefdom in Yorro, who was kidnapped earlier.
According to residents interviewed by a reporter, the assailants raided the community in the early morning hours, forcefully taking Dila and Begwa from their homes.
Confirming the abduction, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Usman Abdullahi, said “the former vice chairman of Yorro local government council and one other person were kidnapped in Dila village in the early hours of today.”
He said the police, in collaboration with other sister security agencies, are already after the kidnappers.
He reiterated the commitment of the command to secure the release of all those that have been kidnapped across the state unhurt.
