Kwara United’s forward, Sadeeq Yusuf, has issued an apology to his teammates following his dismissal during the club’s match against Plateau United on matchday 15.
Yusuf was shown a second yellow card for removing his shirt while celebrating his winning goal in the 2-1 triumph at the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin. Consequently, he will be sidelined for Kwara United’s upcoming match against Kano Pillars.
Despite the setback, Yusuf expressed his regard for the goal, considering it as an invaluable contribution.
“I honestly forgot that I was already on a yellow card, so when I scored the second goal, which turned out to be the winning goal, I was so happy that I didn’t remember when I pulled off my shirt in celebration,” he told NPFL troll.
“It cost the team red card and I have to apologise to my teammate and coach, as professional players we should be able to control ourselves but once in a while the feeling is priceless especially when the fans start screaming.”
