After a court session, Joy Unwana, the high court judge for Akwa Ibom,kidnapped with her driver have been released.
This was revealed in a statement on Saturday by the state’s commissioner of information, Ini Ememobong.
During the incident, the shooters murdered the judge’s designated police officer.
The state governor expressed sympathy to the judge and her driver for the pain they must have endured at the hands of their kidnappers, the commissioner added, and vowed to hold those responsible accountable.
In particular, the statement said that the governor had thanked the Ministry of Internal Security for using local intelligence and strategic cooperation to handle security-related concerns.
