Nigerian Airforce operatives successfully eliminated a notorious bandit leader, Ali Alhaji Alheri, famously known as Kachalla Ali Kawaje, the mastermind behind the abduction of female students from Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) and construction workers. He met his end during an airstrike on Monday.
A reliable source from the joint task force Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) disclosed in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, that Kachalla Kawaje was killed in Niger State during the NAF’s aerial assault, a part of the military effort.
The source added that the NAF’s airstrike on December 6, 2023, targeted the camps of Ali Kachalla and Dogo Gide, resulting in the demise of several infamous bandit leaders. Among them were Machika, Dogo Gide’s younger brother and a high-ranking commander in Gide’s faction, and Dan Muhammadu, a specialized kidnapper and assault expert in the Dogo Gide camp.
Reports indicated that these three kingpins, along with others, were taken down during an attack mission in Niger State. Sources mentioned that the slain leaders were known to frequent hideouts in Kamuku National Park in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Kuyambana Game Reserve in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, and Kainji Lake National Park across Mashegu, Magama, and Borgu local government areas in Niger State.
