Kaduna village bombing: Islamic cleric tells Tinubu to set up investigative panel

Following the tragic bombing incident during a Maulud celebration in Kaduna, Islamic cleric Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to promptly institute an investigative panel.

Sheikh Dahiru stressed the importance of swiftly conducting a thorough investigation into the unintended bombing. He highlighted the necessity to analyze the circumstances surrounding the tragedy to prevent future accidents.

The esteemed Islamic scholar, also a leader of Tijjaniyyah disciples, urged the government to provide compensation to the families affected by the accidental bombing in Tundun Biri, Kaduna State.

Addressing reporters at his residence in Bauchi, he called upon President Tinubu’s administration to ensure justice for the victims. Sheikh Dahiru emphasized the importance of holding those responsible accountable to forestall similar incidents in the future.

Expressing condolences to the affected families and the wider Muslim community, Sheikh Dahiru underscored the government’s responsibility to safeguard lives and properties.

“We are in pain. How did the people in the air drop bombs on innocent people? Whose fault is it? Is it the fault of the government, or who?” He queried.

“The essence of the government is to protect lives and property, but not to play with people’s lives. We urged for a thorough probe into the tragedy that killed scores of innocent persons”.

He added, “We have started discussions with the Federal Government through the National Security Adviser, and he pledged that they will ensure that they investigate and do justice to the victims when the President returns from his journey.”
