Boniface listed among Europe’s 100 best young dribblers

Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface,  has been rated as one of Europe’s most promising young dribblers.

The Bayer Leverkusen striker has made a mark in the German football landscape this season, bagging the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month awards for the first two months of the campaign. Boniface’s impressive performances have helped him accumulate nine goals and four assists in all competitions, out of which seven goals were scored in the Bundesliga.

Despite being only 22 years old, Boniface has surpassed several other players in the Bundesliga. Only five players, all above 22 years of age, have scored more goals than him in the league. He has also provided three assists, a feat that only eight other players in the Bundesliga have managed to surpass, proving his versatility as both a scorer and a creator.

CIES Football Observatory’s recent report highlights Boniface’s exceptional dribbling abilities. He is the 14th-best U-23 dribbler in Europe’s top five leagues, averaging an impressive 4.5 dribbles per game with 58% dribbling accuracy.

Among players with a dribbling accuracy of 58% or higher, only a handful surpass Boniface’s dribbling frequency, such as Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli, Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo, Burnley’s Luca Koleosho, and Girona’s Sávio Moreira.

What makes Boniface stand out is his incredible goal-scoring prowess, making him a complete forward who not only excels in dribbling but also delivers the final product.
