Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane, in a recent appearance on Sky Sports, advised manager Erik ten Hag to consider a change in team leadership by replacing Bruno Fernandes as the captain.
Keane’s remarks followed United’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, during which Fernandes appeared visibly frustrated while City maintained control at Old Trafford.
Additionally, after the match, the Portuguese midfielder left the field without acknowledging the home supporters, further highlighting the need for a potential change in captaincy.
Keane said: “What I saw today, I would take the captaincy off Fernandes. He is not captain material.
“He’s whinging; he’s moaning. I would start with that because the manager can control that. He is the opposite of what I would want as a captain.”
