Katsina Govt. disburses compensation of N300 million for airport expansion

The Katsina State Government has disbursed over N300 million in compensation to 421 individuals in relation to the expansion of Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport in Katsina.

Usman Isyaku, the State Head of Service, provided this information during a press briefing after welcoming representatives from the Federal Ministry of Aviation. These officials were visiting the state to oversee the commencement of four projects at the airport.

Isyaku mentioned that the state government has already transferred ownership of the acquired land designated for constructing a fire truck maintenance center, cargo terminal, and a modern terminal.

Commending the dedication of State Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda in realizing the project, Isyaku noted that once completed, these initiatives would generate employment opportunities for the young population of the state.

Engineer Clement Olayinka, the Director of air drone development and leader of the Federal Ministry of Aviation team, expressed appreciation to the state governor for promptly providing the necessary land. He conveyed his enthusiasm for Governor Radda’s fervor and commitment in swiftly making the land available.

Engineer Olayinka affirmed that all contractors have been mobilized to the site and are ready to join the inspection team, marking a significant step towards initiating the projects.
