Omadefu emerges the Majority Leader of Nasarawa Assembly

Mr Mohammed Omadefu (APC- Keana) has been elected as the Majority Leader of the Nasarawa House of Assembly, as announced by the Speaker, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi (APC-Umaisha/Ugya), during the unveiling of the eight Principal Officers of the 7th Assembly in Lafia on Monday.

Abdullahi clarified that the selection of the principal officers was made after consultations with stakeholders in the state. Additionally, Mr Danladi Jatau (APC- Kokona West) emerged as the Deputy Majority Leader, and Mr Larry Ven Bawa (APC- Akwanga North) was elected as the Chief Whip.

Furthermore, Abdullahi appointed Mr Suleiman Azara (APC- Awe South) as the Deputy Chief Whip, while Mr Iliya Zhekaba (PDP- Obi 11) would serve as the Minority Leader. Mr Musa Abubakar (NNPP- Doma South) was elected as the Deputy Minority Leader, and Mr Solomon Akwashiki (SDP- Lafia Central) would assume the role of the Minority Whip. Mr Musa Gude (SDP-Uke/ Karsh) was named as the Deputy Minority Whip.

The Speaker urged the newly appointed principal officers to uphold high standards while carrying out their responsibilities. He also encouraged the people of the state to continue supporting Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to ensure the delivery of democratic dividends to the citizens.
