Elon Musk sets temporary reading limits on Twitter

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has implemented temporary restrictions on the platform to combat excessive data scraping and system manipulation.

In an announcement made on his own Twitter page on Saturday, Musk revealed that verified accounts would be limited to reading 6,000 posts per day.

Additionally, unverified accounts and new unverified accounts would have limitations of 600 posts per day and 300 posts per day, respectively, in terms of reading access.

He said, “To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:
– Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day
– Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day
– New unverified accounts to 300/day,”

Hours after a global outage affected the social media platform, Elon Musk took to Twitter on Saturday to provide clarification.

His tweet came in response to the widespread issues that prevented thousands of users worldwide from accessing Twitter.

As per the outage monitor website ‘Down Detector,’ over 7,000 users reported problems with the platform.
