Leicester City manager rues Iheanacho's injury

By David Kabiyesi with Agency Report

Leicester City manager, Dean Smith is currently growing grey hairs ahead of the Foxes’ five remaining fixtures after one of his trusted strikers, Kelechi Iheanacho picked up a groin injury.

Smith told Leicester TV that the injury doesn’t look good considering the way the Nigerian hurt his groin in the build-up to Leicester City’s equalizer.

The former Manchester City striker was immediately replaced by Danny Praet, and he is a major doubt if the number of days he is expected to spend on the sideline is anything to go by.

Iheanacho is expected to undergo a fresh scan to ascertain the level of his injury.

“It’s too soon. He felt his groin and it didn’t look great, so we’ll have to wait until we get a scan on it,” Smith told LCFC TV post-match.

The Foxes are fighting for their lives, and Dean Smith would need all its players readily available for what has been termed as “five finals”  if they are to stay afloat at the end of the season
