The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has named Douye Diri, the governor of Bayelsa State, as its candidate for the forthcoming governorship election planned for November 11, 2023.
Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State and chief returning officer for the party’s governorship primary, announced.
Out of the 315 delegates present at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Center in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, Adeleke claims that Diri won with 305 votes.
The eight local government areas of the state provided the ad hoc representatives.
