Peter Obi pledges N5millions to support Plateau attack victims

On Saturday, December 30, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for 2023, made a visit to internally displaced persons in Plateau State’s Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi local government areas.

These areas had suffered attacks by armed bandits on Christmas Eve. Accompanied by state party officials, Obi announced a donation of five million naira to each affected local government area to aid those currently displaced.

Expressing shock and condemnation for the attacks that led to loss of lives and property, Obi stressed the government’s responsibility in safeguarding its citizens and their belongings. He highlighted the alarming number of Nigerians displaced within their own country, labeling it as unacceptable and urging urgent government intervention.

During the Christmas Eve assaults, gunmen raided over 15 settlements in Barkin-Ladi and Bokkos Local Government Areas of the state, resulting in the tragic death of over 190 individuals.
