PHOTOS: South-East governors meet in the Gov't House in Enugu

Governors representing the five south-east states convened on Thursday at the Government House in Enugu, Enugu State.

These governors collectively constitute the South-East Governors’ Forum and are identified as Alex Otti (Abia), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo (Anambra), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Dr. Peter Mbah (Enugu), and Senator Hope Uzodimma (Imo).

This meeting signifies the first gathering of the five governors since the newly elected officials assumed office on May 29, 2023.

Reports indicate that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) imposed a sit-at-home action on Monday in the region, which was a primary agenda item for deliberation. Additionally, the demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the separatist group IPOB, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services since June 2021, was prominently discussed.
