Golden Eaglets gaffer, Nduka Ugbade is losing sleep over his players’ poor scoring record because he believes it’s beginning to take its toll on the overall performance of his team.
Still smarting from their 1-0 loss to Morocco on Wednesday evening, coach Ugbade is worried that his team lost a game they were absolutely in control of, adding that it hurts to see a team create loads of chances only to find scoring difficult.
“Everything worked well. We controlled the game but tactically Morocco controlled the outcome,” Ugbade told reporters.
“We had some few mistakes as well but we created so many chances, and the only problem is that we couldn’t score,” he said
He then charged his players to be more ruthless in from of goal, adding a lot of preparation will be put in place to address goal scoring in training ahead of their final group clash against South Africa. “It does happen in football. It is not a strange thing, but it is important to correct and ensure we are more efficient in front of goal,” he concluded.
