The Senate has confirmed the appointments of 21 nominees as federal commissioners for the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
This decision followed the presentation of a report by Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, Chairman of the Joint Committee on National Planning, Economic Affairs, and Finance, who confirmed that all the nominees were qualified for public office.
These appointments, made by President Bola Tinubu in August, were sent to the Senate for confirmation. With this move, all states in the country now have representation on the RMAFC board, ensuring nationwide inclusivity in the commission’s operations.
He said, “The Senate confirms the 21 nominees, making the commission fully constituted. That means every state now has representation on the board.”
The confirmed commissioners are, Linda Nkechi Oti, Abia; Akpan Effiong, Akwa Ibom; Enefe Ekene, Anambra; Steve Ugba, Benue; and Eyonsa Whiley, Cross River.
Others include: Aruviere Egharhevwe, Delta; Nduka Henry Awuregu, Ebonyi; Victor Eboigbe, Edo; Wumi Ogunlola, Ekiti; and Ozo Obumreme-Obodougo, Enugu.
