Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has dropped a bombshell revelation on music icon Charly Boy.
On Tuesday, the longtime friends attended the book launch of the 999 memoir in London.
While speaking to the press with Charly Boy behind him, Obasanjo disclosed that the legendary singer was once a drug addīct and an asháwo.
The two men have been close since the former president’s tenure.
Earlier this year, Charly had surprised the former president on his 89th birthday with a huge box. Videos seen online captured the moment he presented the box to Obasanjo, who opened it in front of the crowd.
Speaking about the birthday celebration, he said Obasanjo was well honoured, as the hall was filled with laughter.
In an interview with media personality Isbae U on Curiosity Made Me Ask, Obasanjo opened up about his perception of Charly Boy, saying he initially had little regard for him because of his unconventional appearance and lifestyle, despite great respect for his late father, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa.
