We warmly felicitate Ugochukwu Nwanjoku, Aninri; Uche Okolo, Awgu; Vitalis Ndu, Ezeagu; Jude Asogwa, Nsukka; Caleb Ani, Enugu South; Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, Igbo-Eze South; Ibenaku Onoh, Enugu North; Beloved Dan Anike, Enugu East; and Greg Anyaegbudike, Oji River.
We equally congratulate Brendan Ani, Isi-Uzo; Mike Ogbuekwe, Nkanu East; John Ogbodo, Nkanu West; Martin Amadieze, Igbo-Etiti; Hyginus Agu, Udi; Ikechukwu Ezeoha, Udenu; Chijioke Ezugwu, Uzo-Uwani; and Chris Onyekachi, Igbo-Eze North.
The APC’s victory across the seventeen Local Government Areas represents far more than a partisan triumph. It is a resounding vote of confidence in the visionary, courageous and people-centred leadership of the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Dr. Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and an unmistakable public endorsement of the administration’s ongoing transformation of Enugu State.
Through visible investments in healthcare, education, security, roads, agriculture, transport, water, digital infrastructure and economic expansion, Governor Mbah has demonstrated that effective governance remains the most powerful campaign message. Ndi Enugu have voted for continuity, stability, accelerated development and the extension of progress to every community, ward and household.
We profoundly commend His Excellency for providing the leadership, atmosphere of peace and institutional environment necessary for a free, fair, orderly and credible electoral process. His commitment to democratic governance and respect for the people’s right to choose have further strengthened public confidence in the political and electoral development of our dear state.
PM-H2PV also commends the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, under the leadership of Prof. Christian C. Ngwu, for discharging its constitutional responsibility with professionalism, impartiality and transparency. The Commission’s coordination of the exercise and maintenance of an orderly process demonstrated that electoral institutions earn public legitimacy through fairness, competence and fidelity to the law.
We salute the electorate, participating political parties, candidates, electoral officials, security agencies, observers, community leaders and members of the media whose cooperation contributed to the peaceful conclusion of the exercise. We particularly commend the people of Enugu State for once again demonstrating political maturity and placing the collective peace and progress of the state above individual or partisan interests.
To the chairmen-elect, this victory must never* be regarded as a coronation or a blank cheque. It is a binding social contract, a solemn call to service and a demand for measurable results. You must govern beyond party lines, remain accessible to the people and translate Governor Mbah’s transformative vision into tangible improvements across every community.
We specifically charge the newly elected council chairmen to study, adopt and faithfully replicate the progressive policies and programmes of the State Government within their respective councils. The Local Government Areas must become active partners in the implementation of the Governor’s development agenda—not distant administrative outposts waiting for directives from the state capital.
The same culture of bold vision, disruptive innovation, prudent resource management, accountability, urgency and quality project delivery that defines the Mbah administration must be firmly established at the grassroots. Every council should align its development plan with the State Government’s programmes in healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure, security, environmental management, digital transformation, job creation and human-capital development.
The dividends of democracy must be visible in functional primary healthcare centres, accessible rural roads, potable water, clean markets, effective sanitation, improved schools, agricultural support, youth and women’s empowerment, enhanced security and transparent management of public resources. Government must not only be felt in Enugu metropolis; it must be experienced in every village, community and ward.
As a health-focused citizens’ movement, PM-H2PV particularly urges the incoming councils to take full ownership of the grassroots health agenda by supporting the effective operationalization ation of the Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres, strengthening maternal and child health services, immunisation, disease surveillance, environmental sanitation and dependable referral systems.
The success of each chairman will ultimately be measured not by political ceremonies, convoys or rhetoric, but by the number of lives improved, communities transformed and sustainable opportunities created. The people have entrusted you with their mandate; you must repay that trust through responsive leadership and an uncompromising commitment to service.
