The Osun State Amotekun Corps has rescued a woman and her children who were found wandering along the Osogbo-Gbongan Road in Osun State.
The woman, whose identity could not immediately be established, was reportedly found with her children by Amotekun patrol officers on Thursday night while moving along the busy road.
According to the Corps, the woman and her children were taken to its office in Osogbo for safety and necessary assistance.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the Osun Amotekun Corps, CSA Yusuf Idowu Abass.
The Corps said the woman had been unable to provide clear answers to questions concerning her identity, whereabouts or family.
It added that she also appeared unable to properly attend to the needs of the baby in her care, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding her presence on the road.
The Amotekun authorities have therefore appealed to members of the public who may recognise the woman or have information about her family to come forward.
The Corps said any useful information could help in identifying her relatives and facilitating the safe reunification of the woman and her children with their family.
It urged residents, community leaders and other stakeholders to share the information widely, particularly through social media and community networks.
The statement appealed to anyone with relevant information to contact the Amotekun office in Osogbo to assist with the ongoing effort to trace the woman’s family.
The Corps assured that the woman and her children were currently being kept in a safe environment while efforts continued to establish their identity and locate their relatives.
