We must work hard, Osimhen tells teammates after scoring brace in season opener

Victor Osimhen has told his Galatasaray teammates to raise their game and give everything on the pitch after their 2-2 draw against Çorum in their opening Turkish Super Lig fixture.

The Nigerian striker was the star of the show, scoring twice as Galatasaray were forced to settle for a point at home.

But Osimhen was already looking ahead, warning his teammates that the new season will demand much more from them, especially with the Champions League on the horizon.

Speaking to beIN Sports, the Super Eagles striker urged the squad to work harder and build momentum before their European campaign begins.

“It’s going to be a tough season. The team is well aware of that. We need to work very hard,” Osimhen said.

“We need to give our all on the pitch. The fans are always behind us. We need to gain momentum before the Champions League. Our fighting spirit must increase.”

The striker’s message comes at a time when his future continues to attract attention, with reports linking him with possible moves to Arsenal and Al-Hilal.

For now, however, Osimhen appears fully focused on getting Galatasaray up to speed.

The Turkish champions will have another chance to build momentum when they travel to face Erzurumspor on Friday, August 21.
