A suspected kidnapper who had been declared wanted by the Bauchi State Police Command has been arrested in Kirfi Local Government Area.
The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Abdulmumini Sarki of Ziriyalo Hamlet, via Tubule Village, was apprehended on August 7 by police operatives following credible intelligence.
The Bauchi Police Command said Sarki was wanted in connection with allegations of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping.
Two items were recovered during the operation, including a Boxer motorcycle bearing registration number GME 224WW and an Itel keypad mobile phone containing GLO and MTN SIM cards.
The suspect has been taken into custody and the matter transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Bauchi for further investigation.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, said the arrest formed part of the Command’s efforts to strengthen security across the state.
Commissioner of Police Sani-Omolori Aliyu urged members of the public to assist the police with useful information capable of preventing crime and protecting lives and property.
