Social media detectives thought they had cracked the biggest celebrity comeback story of the week, but Annie Idibia has quickly hit the brakes.
The Nollywood actress has dismissed claims that she is back together with her ex-husband, music legend Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, saying the viral videos that sparked the rumours are old.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Monday, Annie called out the wave of misinformation spreading online.
“Old videos circulating everywhere, false news everywhere,” she wrote.
The internet had gone into overdrive after an old clip resurfaced on Friday, July 17, showing Annie and 2Baba sharing a warm moment at a nightclub. Within hours, fans flooded social media with reactions, with many believing the former couple had secretly found their way back to each other.
But Annie’s response has now poured cold water on the speculation.
The actress made it clear that the video making the rounds was not recent and should not be taken as evidence of a reunion.
Annie and 2Baba officially ended their marriage in January 2025 after spending more than a decade together and raising two daughters.
Since their separation, 2Baba has moved on with his life and is now married to Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru.
With Annie’s latest clarification, it appears the reunion rumours belong where the viral video came from — the past.
For now, fans hoping for a romantic plot twist will have to settle for the truth: not every trending throwback is breaking news.
