Tinubu Loyalist Champions Women Entrepreneurs, Backs First Lady’s Agenda

A strong case has been made for increased investment in women-owned businesses as a strategy for accelerating economic growth, reducing poverty and promoting inclusive national development.

Prominent supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Khamis Musa Darazo, made the call while endorsing the women empowerment initiatives of First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

He said women entrepreneurs are making significant contributions to Nigeria’s economy through agriculture, food processing, tailoring, trading and other small-scale enterprises despite prevailing economic challenges.

Darazo noted that providing affordable financing, vocational training, business mentorship and improved access to markets would enable more women to expand their businesses and create employment opportunities.

He cited the story of an Abuja entrepreneur, Asabe, who reportedly built houses from proceeds earned through selling akara and akamu, describing it as evidence that small and medium-scale enterprises can generate substantial wealth when supported.

He urged governments, financial institutions, corporate organisations and development partners to work with the First Lady’s office in expanding economic opportunities for women, maintaining that sustained investment in female entrepreneurs is crucial to achieving long-term national development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
