Vice President Kashim Shettima has said that the president Ahmed Bola Tinubu led federal government was committed to deepen partnership with traditional institutions in the country.
He spoke in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital during the 70th birthday and valedictory celebration of Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (rtd), said the federal government would continue to collaborate with traditional rulers for the sustenance of peace.
The vice president said that the present economic situation in the country reflects Nigeria’s rise to it’s full potential where every region, every state and community would taste the leadership of the county.
Shettima described the Emir of Lafia as a man who build his reputation on integrity, straightforwardness and honesty among his pears which earned him respect.
He said thatJustice Sidi Bage Muhammad did not abandoned his legal profession but applied the knowledge and wisdom to bring together the diverse cultures harmoniously beyond the boundaries of Nasarawa state.
The vice president congratulated the Emir of Lafia on his 70th birthday, prayed God to grant him health and wisdom to serve his people.
Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule, appreciated vice president Kashim Shettima for taking his time to be part of the historic event despite his crowded schedules.
He congratulated the Emir on his 70th birthday and wishes him good heath to continue to serve the nation.
Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum, praised the exemplary service of the Emir both as a retired jurist, and as a traditional ruler.
The Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad appreciated the vice president for his presence and his kind words showered on him in his tribute.
He also appreciated the governor of Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Sule and his Borno counterpart, Professor Babagana Zulum for their goodwill massages and participation in the event.
