NDC Will Not Impose Candidates, Dickson Assures Members

Against concerns over alleged imposition of candidates in the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), the party’s National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has assured members that the party will uphold internal democracy and not impose candidates on them.

Dickson gave the assurance on Monday night in Abuja during a meeting with leaders of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

According to statement from the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, delegation of the national leadership of the Kwankwasiyya Movement met with Senator Dickson and the leadership of the NDC in a closed-door session aimed at resolving issues between the movement and legacy officials of the party in Kano State.

Senator Dickson and the NDC leadership are mediating in the process to promote inclusion and participation by all party members.

He stressed that the NDC leadership would not impose candidates in Kano State or any other part of the country, noting that the party remains committed to the principles of internal democracy.

The meeting, which lasted several hours, was described as productive.

The Director also stated that the party has not released any official results of its primary elections in any state.

Consequently, party members and the general public have been urged to disregard any purported results currently in circulation.
