APC Primaries: Tinubu Wins 301,000 Votes in Sokoto

President Bola Tinubu won 301,000 votes cast in the APC presidential primary election held on Saturday across the 3,991 polling units in Sokoto State. His opponent, Mr. Stanley Osifo, recorded zero votes.

The results were declared in Sokoto by the State Chief Returning Officer, Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.

He said 301,000 registered voters were accredited and all of them cast their votes. Acting under his authority as Chief Returning Officer, Gov. Aliyu declared President Tinubu the winner of the direct presidential primary election.

He thanked the APC leader in the state and former governor, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, for his sustained support and guidance.

Speaking at the event, Gov. Aliyu expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the exercise across the state’s 23 local government areas. He said the entire process was issue-free across all 3,991 polling units.

All collated results, he added, had been verified and would be transmitted to the National Collation Officer in Abuja.

The governor also commended stakeholders, party members, and the 23 local government collation officers for conducting the exercise in a law-abiding, diligent, fair, and transparent manner.

APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Haruna Sarkin Gobir Adiya, applauded Gov. Aliyu, Sen. Wamakko, party stakeholders, and members for ensuring the seamless conduct of the polls.

The declaration ceremony was witnessed by Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko; Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Engr. Idris Muhammad Gobir; Minister of State for Works, Barr. Muhammad Bello Goronyo; Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga; and the member representing Bodinga, Dange-Shuni, and Tureta Federal Constituency, among other APC chieftains in the state.
