Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested two suspected car thieves and recovered a stolen Toyota Hummer bus following an intelligence-led operation in Bauchi State.
The vehicle owner, Abubakar, 60, of the Gallaga area of Bauchi, had reported the theft to the ‘A’ Division Township Police Station on May 16, 2026.
According to the command’s spokesman, SP Nafiu Habib, the complainant said the Toyota Hummer bus with registration number 14B95 BA was stolen at the Yankari Express Motor Park while he attended prayers at the mosque within the park.
Habib said acting on credible intelligence, the Divisional Police Officer led a team of detectives that tracked and arrested the suspects along Gombe Road in Bauchi.
The suspects were identified as Anas Yarima, 35, of Shingen Abba, and Abubakar Adam, 53, of Kandahar area, Bauchi.
“The stolen Toyota Hummer bus was recovered in their possession, while the suspects confessed to the crime and admitted using a personal key to steal the vehicle,” the police spokesman stated.
He added that investigation was ongoing and the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
