Obi’s reasons for dumping ADC illogical, puerile – Presidency

The Presidency has told the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi,  that his reasons for dumping the opposition coalition. African Democratic Congress (ADC) were illogical and puerile.

Responding to Obi’s hint of dumping the ADC in his X-handle on Sunday, the Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga on his X platform said Obi’s decision merely indicated opportunism and his aversion to tough electoral contests.

Onanuga further accused the former Anambra State governor of being politically fluid, “a politician made of jelly”, alleging that he was avoiding tough political contests.

According to him, Obi was reluctant to challenge figures such as Atiku Abubakar or Rotimi Amaechi for a presidential ticket, opting instead for a more convenient political route.

“The political nomad is on the move again. Ignore all those puerile reasons he gave in these illogical musings, a self-serving letter to his mob. Peter Obi is a politician made of jelly, an opportunistic fellow.

“He can’t fight Atiku or Amaechi for the ticket of ADC. He pursues the easy road, which will only lead him to doom, like in 2023. He always blames the government without doing any soul-searching of himself. Welcome, Peter, to the 2027 race.”

According to him, Obi could not contend with figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar or former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi for a presidential ticket, opting instead for what he termed an “easy road.”

“He pursues the easy road, which will only lead him to doom, like in 2023,” Onanuga stated.

Onanuga also accused Obi of consistently blaming the government for national challenges without engaging in self-reflection concluding by saying, “Welcome, Peter, to the 2027 race.”
