2027: Nigerians obtained Tinubu’s re-election nomination forms – Falake

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday obtained his re-election Expression of Interest and Nomination forms from his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), with Hon. James Falake acting on his behalf.

Speaking to journalists after receiving the forms, Falake said they were purchased collectively by Nigerians, stressing that no single individual or group could claim sole responsibility for the payment.

According to him, the forms symbolise confidence in the President’s performance. “These are victory forms, obtained by Nigerians in recognition of the good work the President has done and continues to do,” he said.

Falake also disclosed that Expression of Interest and Nomination forms were obtained for Lagos State governorship aspirant, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, as well as for his own House of Representatives re-election bid.

He noted that the presidential form costs N100 million, while the governorship form is priced at N50 million.

The forms were presented to Falake by the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, alongside the party’s National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Argungu.

Addressing questions on the source of funding, Falake reiterated that the contributions came from a broad base of supporters.

“For all support groups that contributed money to purchase the form, I have done so on their behalf—on behalf of Nigerians. There is no one particular person that has done this,” he said.

“Just as we did ahead of the 2023 election, I am again privileged to be among those representing others to obtain the form for our performing President. By the grace of God, he will contest and win in 2027.”

He added that more than 1,000 contributors in Lagos were involved in raising funds for the forms, explaining that only a few representatives could physically collect them.

Falake further revealed that he also obtained his own nomination form to seek re-election to the House of Representatives and was awaiting the receipt to collect the form for Senator Idiat Adebule.

On reports of a coalition of opposition parties planning to present a single candidate against President Tinubu, Falake dismissed concerns, describing such alliances as part of the democratic process.

“Political parties can come together; it is part of democracy. When we do our work, they will do their work,” he said.
