Sanwo-Olu Seeks Assembly’s Backing to Complete Key Projects

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appealed to the Lagos State House of Assembly for sustained support to enable his administration complete ongoing strategic projects across Lagos.

Speaking at the 19th Executive-Legislative Parley held at Eko Hotels and Suites, the governor emphasized the importance of collaboration between the executive and legislative arms in delivering on the THEMES+ Agenda.

Sanwo-Olu commended Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and lawmakers for their consistent partnership, noting that legislative backing has been crucial in advancing key reforms, including transport development and infrastructure financing.

He stressed that his administration remains committed to completing all critical projects before the end of its tenure, assuring that no major initiative would be abandoned. He also disclosed plans to present a Legacy and Transition Bill to institutionalize key policies and ensure continuity.

The governor further announced plans to convene a Citizens’ Assembly to promote inclusive governance and publish a comprehensive “State of Lagos Report” detailing achievements and pending goals.

Earlier, the Special Adviser on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Tajudeen, highlighted milestones recorded by his office, including the Eko Cares financial assistance programme and the Mother, Infant and Child Development Programme, both aimed at supporting vulnerable residents and improving healthcare access.

Sanwo-Olu urged lawmakers to maintain focus despite mounting political pressures, emphasizing the need to govern effectively until the last day of their mandate.
