Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has on Wednesday said its pricing structure remained intact, with the gantry price of fuel at N1,200 per litre and the coastal price at N1,153 per litre.
This is contrary to earlier reports that it had increased its fuel and diesel prices.
The previous report had stated that the refinery raised its gantry price of fuel by N75 from the previous N1,200 to now N1,275 per litre, representing 5.02 per cent increase.
It added that it increased the price of diesel to N1,950 per litre from from N1,750.
It had quoted an official of the refinery who did not want to be named to have attributed the increment to energy volatility in the global market, owing to Middle East crises.
He said: “The adjustment is in line with global market trends. You are aware of the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and how they have impacted crude oil prices. These are external factors that directly influence refined product pricing.
“Petrol has been reviewed upward by N75 to N1,275 per litre, which is about a five per cent increase, while diesel has increased more significantly by N200 to N1,950 per litre. These changes reflect the realities of the international market.”
But the refinery in a current statement emphatically stated that the price of fuel remainedunchanged, amid concerns over potential volatility in the downstream market.
According to the statement, a source at the company confirmed that its pricing structure remains intact, with the fuel gantry price at N1,200 per litre and the coastal price at N1,153 per litre.
“We are maintaining our existing price and have not implemented any new pricing for our customers,” the source said.
The source added that the refinery remains focused on ensuring the steady availability of refined petroleum products across Nigeria and the wider African market, reinforcing its role in supporting supply stability.
