The National Welfare Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nkemakolam Ukandu, has accused Justice Liman Suleiman of Federal High Court, Abuja of bias.
Justice Suleiman is hearing the case filed by a member of House of Representatives, Hon. Leke Abejide challenging manner in which Senator David Mark and others took over the leadership of the party.
But Ukandu in a motion on notice, No: FHC/ABJ/CS/1637/2025, filed on Thursday, accused the judge of granting Abejide’s application without putting the defendants on notice.
He also said the judge refused entertain his application for an amendment challenging the judges jurisdiction to the hear the case.
In a-26 paragraph affidavit, the applicant accused Justice Suleiman of giving rulings in favour of a politician who he said, is bent on killing opposition parties in the country.
He thereafter prayed the judge to recuse himself from hearing the suit, and asked the court to grant an order returning the case file in respect of the suit to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court for reassignment to another Court.
Although Abejide had since been expelled from the party for alleged anti-party activities, including openly canvassing for President Tinubu’s second term, he has continued to challenge the leadership of the party in court, including Hon. Nkem Ukandu, who is now the welfare secretary of the party.
