Olorunda LCDA boss inaugurates cabinet members, assigns portfolios

The Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Hon. Kumayon Ajose on Monday appointed members of the cabinet members and assigned portfolios to them as part of efforts to strengthen governance and service delivery.

Speaking on the appointments, Kumayon said the selection of the appointees was carefully made to ensure competence, efficiency and commitment in driving the development agenda of the council.

The Chairman urged the newly appointed cabinet to consider the appointment as a call to higher responsibility and selfless service.

“Your emergence into these strategic offices is not accidental.

“It is a recognition of your dedication, loyalty, competence, and steadfast commitment to the growth of our great party and the advancement of our people.

“Let me state clearly that every member of our party in Olorunda LCDA contributed immensely to the success of the 2025 Local Government Elections.

“The victory we recorded was a product of collective sacrifice and unity.

“Those appointed today must therefore see this opportunity as a sacred trust and justify it through diligence, humility, and measurable impact,” he said.

Ajose said that local government remains the closest tier of government to the grassroots, adding that people expect results and not rhetoric.

The chairman urged the newly appointed cabinet to regards the
oath of office as a solemn covenant between you and the good people of Olorunda.

He appointed Wahab Ashade as Secretary to the Local Government. Jimoh Nuatin Amosu was named Supervisor for Works, while Solomon Mobolaji Adele was appointed Vice Chairman and Supervisor for Environment.

Otegbola Isaac Adediji was appointed Supervisor for Budget and Planning. Joshua Oke Afolabi will serve as Supervisor for Youth, Sports and Social Services, while Adeosun Wahab was named Supervisor for Agriculture and Rural Development.

Alhaja Kuburat Okunade was appointed Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. Bankole Afeez will serve as Supervisor for Education, while Moses Adewale Falola was named Supervisor for Tourism, Arts and Creative Economy.

Gandonu Abodo John was appointed Supervisor for Health, while Fagbamila Oluwadamilare Adewale will serve as Supervisor for Transport and Parks.

Cornelius Akinyele was appointed Chief of Staff and Special Adviser on Special Duties and Civic Engagements. Timileyin Apelaye will serve as Special Adviser on Health, while Michael Talabi was named Special Adviser on Legislative Matters.

Also appointed were Abu Mumuni as Special Adviser on Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Jonathan Sunday Olonde as Special Adviser on Environment and Sanitation, and Bolaji Oke as Special Adviser for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Gbedeji Victor Yemaren was named Special Adviser on Market Affairs, Lukman Adele as Special Adviser on Revenue and Economic Planning, while Barnabas Abiodun Raji will serve as Special Adviser on Disability and Inclusion.

Kumayon expressed confidence in the ability and dedication of the appointees to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the council.

He urged them to regard their appointments as a call to service and to work diligently in line with the administration’s commitment to transparent and people-centered governance.

Mrs Bolaji Oke, a newly sworn in Supervisory Council in Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) pledged to work for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

According to Oke, since the inception of President Tinubu, there are a lot of policies and changes which have brought developments to both states and local governments allocation.

“This has made the tiers of government to embark on different projects for the benefit of their people.

“Many states that are owning their workers and contractors were able to pay without much trouble.

“The people in Olorunda are happy because of many developmental changes in their council.

“I can vividly tell you that present we have started working seriously to ensure Tinubu emerge winner in 2027 general election,” she said.

The traditional rulers, Chief, elective of holders, residents of the council and workers graced the event.
