Twenty Deposit Money Banks ( DMBs) have fully met new recapitalisation threshold deadlines and another 13 banks at various stages of capital raising, Central Bank Governor Mr. Olayemi Cardoso disclosed on Tuesday at the end of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
He said CBN has verified the total sum of N4.05 trillion funds as of 19th February,2026, being investment funds that came in.
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) at its 304th meeting reduced Monetary Policy Rate (MPR): Reduced by 50 basis points from 27% to 26.5%.
Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR) was retimed at 45% for Commercial Banks and r 16% for Merchant Banks. Liquidity Ratio (LR) retained at 30% Standing Facilities Corridor: retained at +50 / -450 basis points around the MPR.
