A member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honorable Dawood Akanni Olalere, popularly known as D-Al-Ameen, has officially resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Honorable Olalere, who represents Ibadan NorthWest State Constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly, announced his resignation in a letter dated February 13, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of Ward 7, PDP, Ibadan North West Local Government, Ibadan.
In the letter, the lawmaker stated that his decision to leave the party took immediate effect. He attributed his resignation to what he described as long lingering and unresolvable division bedeviling the party.
He further noted that the move was in his best interest, aligned with his personal values, and in consideration of the interests of his supporters.
Meanwhile, his next move is yet to be declared as at the time of filing this report.
