The Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos, Mr Kumayon Ajose, has inaugurated different newly projects in the council to mark his 100 days in office.
The new projects include Imeke Town Hall, renovation and furnishing of Ilado and Ayede Yenopawa Primary Health Care Centres, equipped with modern facilities and solar-powered lighting.
Others are renovation and full furnishing of Ilado and Ayede Yenopawa Primary Health Care Centres and foundation laying of Mowo-Aradagun link road.
Speaking during media briefing on his 100 days in office, the chairman promised to give good attention to road construction and project that would impact on the people.
According to him, part of my achievement is presentation of 250 free GCE forms to indigent students.
“Participation in the Lagos State Ministry of Education Annual Spelling Bee Competition and educational competitions organised during AGUNKEFEST, including arts, poems and drawings.
“Sponsorship of seminars for Local Government Vice Chairmen, Information Officers and Media Aides, as well as ALGON programmes.
“Engagement of SAMOOR GOMOOR Consulting Firm to establish a reliable database and strengthen Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
“Electoral mobilization through INEC’s Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and articipation in the Badagry Diaspora Festival,” he said
The chairman said others were
sponsorship of a delegation to Abuja for the UNESCO Badagry World Heritage Site enlistment
“Participation in World Food Day, Community Day Festival, and regular statutory meetings with CDAs and farmers,” he said.
Ajose said that the Reshape Agenda of the council deliberately aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government and the THEMES Plus Agenda of Lagos State Government.
He said that it was his utmost determination to strategically and diligently implement purposeful and impactful agenda for the good people of the council.
According to him, our policy direction infrastructure and work includes rehabilitation and maintenance of roads, drainage systems and public buildings.
“Expansion of access to clean water through boreholes and community-based sanitation and water management programmes.
“We will provide school buses at subsidized fares and collaborate with relevant state agencies to rehabilitate schools.
“The council will distribute of writing materials and ICT facilities and encourage adult education and mass literacy programmes.
“We will encourage scholarships, regular PTA engagements and healthcare rehabilitation of PHCs.
“There will be establishment of additional health centres in riverine areas and provision of essential drugs for infants, pregnant women and the elderly.
“My administration will also provide sustainable empowerment programmes through skills acquisition, fishery, poultry, snail farming and apprenticeship schemes,” he said.
