Bayelsa Deputy Gov’s Life Anchored On Integrity, Says PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, as an honest and consistent politician who believed in and practiced politics with principle.

Ewhrudjakpo who was elected on PDP platform alongside Governor Douye Diri, refused to join his principle to the All Progressives Congress (APC), after the latter defected to the ruling party.

PDP in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary Ini Emembong, said the later former deputy governor was a person of conviction, adding that his life was anchored on belief, integrity, and strength of character.

“He held firmly to these virtues until his final moments,” the party stated.

Ewhrudjakpo reportedly collapsed and was rushed to Federal Medical Centre on Thursday where he declared died.

PDP expressed sadness by the passing “of this hero of political integrity, and we pray that God grants his soul eternal rest.”

The party expressed its heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Bayelsa State on this painful and irreparable loss.
