The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that more than 18,000 new voters were added to the register in Ondo State within a four-month period.
According to the commission, the figure emerged from the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which has seen steady turnout across local government areas in the state. INEC stated that the new registrations include first-time voters, individuals who recently turned 18, and residents updating or transferring their voter details.
The commission noted that its officials have been deployed to strategic locations to ensure smooth processing, while urging eligible residents who have not yet registered to take advantage of the remaining days of the exercise.
INEC added that the surge in registrations reflects increasing public interest in participating in the electoral process ahead of upcoming elections.
