US Congress Orders Release of Epstein Files

Both chambers of the US Congress have passed a measure requiring the Justice Department to release all unclassified records related to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell. The House approved the bill 427-1, and the Senate agreed via unanimous consent. President Donald Trump is expected to sign the measure.

The files include investigative documents, communications, flight logs, and material connected to Epstein, though sensitive information about victims or ongoing investigations may be withheld. Epstein survivors spoke in support of the bill, describing past inaction as “institutional betrayal.”

The vote has highlighted rifts among Republicans, with figures like Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene advocating for disclosure, while others initially opposed it. The release follows prior publicized emails referencing prominent individuals, including Trump, though without suggesting wrongdoing.
