Lagos State Governor and Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will on Tuesday, November 12, deliver the keynote lecture at the Arewa Think Tank Independence Anniversary Lecture, held at the Arewa House, Kaduna.
According to a statement issued by the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, the event is being organised by the Arewa Think Tank, a Northern socio-political and policy advocacy group, to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
As read in the statement, Governor Sanwo-Olu, who will serve as Guest Speaker, will speak on the theme: “65 Years of Nigeria’s Independence: A Journey So Far with the Renewed Hope Agenda in View.”
It was also revealed that the lecture would provide a platform for national reflection and policy dialogue on Nigeria’s democratic journey, socio-economic challenges, and development prospects under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
It read: “Mr Governor is honoured to be part of this important national conversation. His lecture will focus on Nigeria’s unity, the progress made so far, and the shared responsibility of all citizens and leaders in building a greater nation.
The statement added that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will grace the event as Special Guest of Honour, while former Senate President and ex-Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Ayim Pius Anyim, will chair the occasion.
The Madakin Zazzau, Mallam Mohammed Munir Ja’afaru, will serve as Co-Chair.
The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, is the Chief Host, while the Emir of Birnin Gwari, His Royal Highness, Malam Zubair Jibril Maigwari II, will be the Royal Father of the Day.
Other dignitaries expected include former Osun State Governor and pioneer APC Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba; former Kaduna State Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero; and former Chief of Defence Staff, General Martin Luther Agwai (rtd.).
Also expected are members of the Federal Executive Council, including Mohammed Badaru (Defence), Dr Dele Alake (Solid Minerals), Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (Interior), Mohammed Idris (Information and National Orientation), and Senator Abubakar Kyari (Agriculture and Food Security), among several other prominent personalities from across the country.
The Arewa Think Tank Lecture Series is aimed at fostering national unity, promoting policy innovation, and encouraging dialogue across regional lines in pursuit of a prosperous and united Nigeria.
