NPFL: Irate Katsina United fans slit player’s face after equaliser

Rampaging Katsina United fans attacked Barau Football Club’s player, Nana Abraham, leaving him with a cut on his jawline during their Nigerian Professional League encounter on Saturday.

Barau Football Club confirmed the attack on its player, posting a photo of him with a bleeding jawline on X.

Barau Football Club wrote, “70′ The match is temporarily halted following an attack on Barau FC player, Nana Abraham. Katsina United | 1-1 | Barau FC.”

Abraham was attacked by angry Katsina United fans shortly after Orji Kalu pulled an equaliser for Barau Football Club in the 69th minute.

The game ended in a draw for both teams on Saturday.

The attack on Abraham occurred a few weeks after Kano Pillars fans attacked a referee following a 3SC equaliser in an NPLF game.
